Domestic Violence Webinar Series (#3): Domestic Violence 101; Impact on Children; Legal Considerations for the Immigrant Community

LA Best Babies Network and the LA County Perinatal and Early Childhood Home Visitation Consortium is partnering with Peace Over Violence for a virtual Domestic Violence Training Series available to all home visiting staff in LA County. The purpose of this training series is to provide home visiting staff with an overview of domestic violence red flags to be aware of as they serve their clients, as well as education of the impact of domestic violence on children, and legal considerations when working with immigrants who may be experiencing domestic violence.

Panel: Keys to Stability- Exploring Housing Support Systems in Los Angeles County

This webinar aims to provide home visiting staff and early childhood educators with resources to help address housing instability for clients and families. Participants will learn about the application process, eligibility criteria, and available resources for crisis housing, eviction prevention, and rental assistance. Additionally, we will discuss alternative strategies to support clients in need of housing, even when resources are limited. Agencies participating in the panel include: Housing for Health Program (LA County Department of Health Services), Homeless Outreach Program Integrated Care System (HOPICS), Harbor Interfaith Council, and LA Family Housing.

Domestic Violence Webinar Series (#1): Domestic Violence 101

The webinar will cover the prevalence of domestic violence in the U.S. and LA County, how to identify red flags and signs of abuse in domestic and intimate partner violence (DV/IPV), and the differences between healthy and unhealthy relationships. It will also teach trauma-informed crisis response strategies to support survivors and provide a list of referrals for DV and other victim services in LA County.
