The effects of climate change on pregnancy is a topic that is not discussed frequently enough in public health. This one pager was created by LABBN staff members to highlight the effects air pollution, extreme heat, and chemicals have on a pregnant person. Prenatal exposures to air pollutants are linked to preterm births, low birth weight, along with other pregnancy complications. Additionally, rising temperatures in major cities have negative impacts on gestational age. Lastly, products that are made with endocrine-disturbing chemicals can be extremely harmful to a developing fetus.
