LA Best Babies Network and the Consortium partnered with Peace of Violence for the Domestic Violence Training Series to provide home visiting staff with an overview of domestic violence red flags to be aware of as they serve their clients, as well as education on the impact of domestic violence on children, and legal considerations when working with immigrants who may be experiencing domestic violence. Training attendees will also learn about county-wide domestic violence resources.  

Domestic Violence Training Series (Legal Considerations for the Immigrant Community) learning objectives include:

• Learning about legal considerations, especially for the immigrant community (Working with DV Immigrant Survivors).

• Learning how to effectively respond to domestic violence among immigrant survivors.

• Learning about barriers related to reporting, cultural considerations, and how immigration status is used as a weapon to control.

• Be provided with options to share with immigrant survivors (legal remedies and victim rights).
